Sometimes church kids will ask me if it’s OK to have friends who are not Christians. “Absolutely,” I tell them. “In fact, I think you should. But always ask yourself, Am I rubbing off on them, or are they rubbing off on me?”
Negativity, gossip, prejudice, and greed can all be contagious. But so can love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Gal. 5:22-23).
Many in the world face overwhelming hopelessness. A little love, a touch, a smile, and compassion from us can wipe away many tears. God can use us to turn sadness to happiness, to help another to live and to die with a sense of God’s presence and love.
O Lord, give us eyes to see, hearts to love, and hands to serve those in need. Amen
Sunday morning Christ is coming
Sing those hymns and shed some sin
He is shrouding us in moments unforgettable
We twist to fit the mold that he is in.
But things just get so crazy
Living life gets hard to do
And I would gladly go to church get up and go cause I know
That someday it would lead me back to you.
That may be all I need
In darkness he is all I see
Come and rest your bones with thee
Going to church on sunday morning
And I never want to leave.
Made this up during conformation. Haha.
God sees every turn of my life’s journey and guides me on the path.
When you carry the Bible, Satan experiences a headache. When you open it, Satan will have a nosebleed. Every time you read it, Satan faints. So how about, we read the Bible everyday, so that Satan will keep on fainting and by any chance, he might have a stroke and never wake up.
And did you know that when you are about to reblog this post, Satan will discourage you to only liking this or even ignoring this?
DON’T LET HIM STOP YOU, CHILD OF GOD. Reblog and pass on.
Dear Lord, help us to use our talents to bless others, even when we are hurting. Amen.
Just as God cannot produce a crop for a farmer who does not plant and tend the field, God cannot grow the fruit of the Holy Spirit in our lives if we do not do our part. Our part involves consistent attention to spiritual practices such as Bible study, prayer, worship, putting God first in our lives, and caring for those in need. It takes time to grow spiritually, and we cannot make it happen faster. But we can maximize our growth by paying attention every day to the details that are our responsibility.
