Life brings change; nothing seems to stay the same. We can be comforted to know that in the face of all the change God will never leave us, and God will never change. We can live and walk spiritually with an ever-present, never-changing Companion. God is our refuge and will always be with us.

On Ash Wednesday we receive a bold and distinctive mark that makes us stand out as Christians. A cross, drawn on our foreheads with ashes, distinguishes us as members of Christ’s family. Along with that mark comes the responsibility to live as Christians. The Lenten ashes disappear soon, but we have been indelibly marked by the Holy Spirit. This Spirit reminds us daily to follow Christ’s example.
